Audi R8 on Fire in India

One of the most expensive cars in India, an Audi R8 costing around a cool quarter of a million Euro, caught fire last week near the Rajiv Gandhi Sea Link.

The Fire Brigade Authority of Mumbai, India says that the cause of the fire was not clear and it was extinguished shortly after it started .

The head of Audi India Michael Perchke told the media that preliminary investigations revealed some modifications may have been carried out on the vehicle.


The incident happened during the prestigious 5th Mumbai Parx Supercar Show-2013 in which over a hundred of the most expensive cars used by India's millionaires participated.

Other cars on show included the Lamborghini Aventador Roadster, costing nearly €700,000, and a Ferrari 458GT.
