Mazda 787B Returns to Le Mans
In 1991, the Mazda 787B made history at the 24 Hours of Le Mans by becoming the first Japanese-built machine to win the race. In addition, the 787B was the first (and continues to be the only) rotary-powered race car to achieve the feat. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the historic victory, Mazda restored the winning car and gave it back to Driver Johnny Herbert who won the race 20 years ago in this very car.
Getting into real 'car-geek' territory - Some people consider the 787B to be the single most awesome-sounding race car ever conceived.
However, they're all wrong!! This is (incidentally, owned by Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason):
or is it this? the Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa. One of these sold for €9,020,000 recently!
