The past week has seen a feast of top-flight motorsport action including the Le Mans 24 hour race, the Canadian F1 Grand Prix, World Superbikes, moto GP and the Isle of Man TT.
Button Beats The Red Bulls: In formula 1 at a rain soaked Canadian Grand Prix that was delayed for nearly 2 hours, Jenson Button stunned the crowds with an absolutely storming drive from last place to first. In an epic performance that culminated in a last lap pass, current championship leader Sebastien Vettel was pressured into making a mistake with only a few corners of the race to go. McLaren team principal Martin Whitmarsh believes that Jenson Button's amazing triumph in the Canadian Grand Prix was not just the Briton's best ever win - he thinks it one of the greatest victories in the history of the sport!
Audi Wins Dramatic Le Mans Classic: At Le Mans the new Audi R18tdi diesel took the win from Peugeots 908 by less than 15 seconds after 24 hours of non stop racing. The other works Audi's both crashed out of the event early on. Audi Driver, Allan Mcnish was extremely lucky to walk away unscathed from the most horrific accident witnessed in recent years.
Stoner Wins at Very Wet Silverstone: In MotoGp Casey Stoner Brought his Repsol Honda home to victory at a very wet Siverstone and championship points leader Jorge Lorenzo crashed out. In World Superbikes Carlos Checa won both races on the Factory Ducati. Irishman Eugene Laverty finished in 8th, placing him 4th in the World Championship standings.
Record For Hutchinson at TT: At the world famous mountain course in the Isle of Man Ian Hutchinson won the Senior TT to become the first rider to win five races in one meeting. Other race winners were John McGuinnes, Gary Johnson, Bruce Anstey and Michael Dunlop.
